Calculators turn your measurements into a shopping list: tiles and boxes, stair risers and stringers, rafters and boards, the size of a room air conditioner. Each one fills in a worked example when the page opens, so you can see how it works before you enter your own numbers.
Size guides give the standard sizes of doors, windows, toilets, counters, beds and rugs, with charts, the clearances around them and drawings to scale.
The site has six sections, each with its own paint-chip color, so you always know where you are: Calculators, Doors & Windows, Bathroom, Kitchen, Framing & Stairs and Beds & Rugs. Every page has an inch and centimeter switch.

Remodel Fit is written by a small independent team. We don’t sell building materials or work for a manufacturer. How we measure explains where the numbers come from and how the drawings and calculators work.

The sizes and code limits here are general. Building codes are adopted and changed locally, and products vary, so check with your local building department and the maker’s instructions before you cut or buy. If a number looks wrong, tell us.
